Jaguar Land Rover will build a self-driving car test center

Jaguar Land Rover is currently preparing to cope with future travel scenarios. According to foreign media reports, Jaguar Land Rover is cooperating with multiple technology companies around the world to build an autonomous driving technology test center. The construction of the project is expected to be completed in September 2021, but the test will be launched in February next year.

The test center is called the “Future Mobility Park in Ireland (FMCI)”. It is a collaborative test site on public roads with a length of about 13 kilometers. The entire test site will be equipped with sensors, high-precision positioning systems, data management and control centers, and autonomous driving Prototype car. In addition, it will include smart intersections, interconnected roads, automatic parking, electric vehicle charging stations, and a 450-kilometer networked highway connection. It also includes an air traffic control corridor that can control flights from Shannon Airport in Ireland along Shannon Bay Drone.

In addition to Jaguar Land Rover, other technology companies such as Cisco, Seagate, Renovo, RedHat, Valeo and Mergon are also major partners of FMCI. It is worth mentioning that this test site is located next to the Jaguar Land Rover Shannon Software Center.
