McKinley Street underpass to close for repairs due to vehicle accident in Casper

CASPER, Wyo. — The Casper Public Services Department said on Friday that the McKinley Street underpass will be closed starting at 7 am Tuesday, Oct. 6 for electrical wiring repair.

A vehicle accident on Sept. 21 caused damage to the wiring, the release states.

The underpass will be closed daily from 7 am to 5 pm from Oct. 6-8 to allow the repair work to be conducted.

“The City of Casper will also upgrade the lighting in the underpass to LED lights,” the release adds. “The upgraded lights will use less energy and last longer decreasing maintenance costs.”

“Motorists are advised to use Beverly Street or Center Street to bypass the closure.” The underpass will be open at night during the closure period.
