Brake failure, 'disregard for safety' blamed for limo crash that killed 20

Schoharie, N. Y. /Albany, N. Y. – One-fourth of the brake capacity didn’t work because of corroded lines and poor maintenance, making a Ford Excursion stretch limousine unable to stop before it crashed in Schoharie almost two years ago, killing the driver, 17 passengers and two bystanders. “What a heinous disregard for safety,” said Michael Graham, a member of the National Transportation Safety Board.
